Students from St. Patrick Catholic School recently competed in Council 4057's Catholic Citizenship essay contest. The purpose of the contest is to encourage young people in our community to become citizens, grounded in their faith through creative writing. It was open to eighth grade students at St. Patrick's who were judged on grammar, style, and how clearly they present the theme.
Contest winners - who showcased creativity, imagination and overall development of the topic - were Jose Centenera, first place; Mikey Miekley, second place and Silas Gross, third place. They are pictured above with 4057 Grand Knight Jay Raines.

SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
